MARVIC TEXTILES

Marvic Textiles is a London based fabric manufacturer and they are slowly becoming my go to for color inspiration and sourcing. At first glance they appeared overly traditional for my taste, Marvic is mostly known for their collection of toiles that are available in many lively colors. I now appreciate their myriad style options in their line. They have a fun tab on their website where you can create a "mood board" based on their fabrics, I made mine in less than 5 minutes (below). They are also rumored to offer the best linens in the industry.

MISMATCHED DINING CHAIRS

I'm not sure I would ever use all the same chairs at a dining table. It just seems so blah. Using different host chairs or at the very least, different fabric on the same chair, really brings some interest in to the design. Just make sure the different pieces coordinate through color and texture or style.

NOMAD: THE WANDERING FASHION BOUTIQUE

Not even the rain can keep me from exploring all off the great outdoor festivities NYC has to offer,While at a deliscious food street fair one Sunday, I saw a truck parked with a set up so inviting I had to see what was inside. All the while, thinking I would discover a truck full of gourmet cheese or wine, but to my surprise I walked into a large closet full of gorgeous garments, jewelry and accessories. It was a traveling clothing boutique. A clothing store on wheels, GENIUS.. I know. I met the owner and brains behind the operation, Jessie Goldenberg, who appeared to be the same age as me. I truly admire seeing young individuals who work hard to make their dreams come true. I can just imagine this young entrepreneur telling people about her idea to start this type of business, only to get strange reactions. bust your little hippie butt girl, and please let me know the next time you come to Brooklyn .

MEDIA ROOMS

It's a rainy day here in the Jerz and all I can think of is staying home and watching a movie marathon. Snuggling under a cashmere blanket with some popcorn watching romantic comedies. But no, I'm going to work. :(

Maybe someday I'll have a media room of my own.
This one below from House Beautiful is ideal. I love the idea of the gradual step ups and the configuration. I'm not sure why, but I don't mind the idea of having a window in a media room either. I just don't want anywhere in my house to feel like a dungeon.

TV Loungers

Why not use some old wood pallettes. Not the comfiest option, but clever.

Taking the Bat Cave theme to a whole different level...

Simple. Intimate.

Perfect for sleepovers and pillow fights...

When yolu have that awkward space you don't knwo what to do with. Boom, media room.

I can't even begin, this is so cute.

And over the top concession stand, for the family that takes their movies seriously. That sconce needs to go though. Bleh!

For those of you with media rooms, I'm available on movie night.

CHEER UP YOUR BATHROOM

At a recent trip to Bloomingdale's with Steph, I discovered these funky orange bath accessories by Jonathan Adler, and I couldn't get my mind off of them! After contemplating for days I went back for a few of the juicy pieces and it had me thinking. How could I spruce up a clean white bath? Well, it seems there was a pattern to my madness all along because one quick glimpse at my Pinterest boards and it seemed that I had it in my mind all along...orange and lilac. And I just took a boring bathroom to a cheery loo! Sometimes all it takes is a few accessories to bring a blah room to life.

I've also been lusting after this art print for probably 2 years now. I have a slight obsession with otters. I mean come on, they hold hands while sleeping so they don't drift away from each other!! So. Freakin. Cute.

The Imabari Towels from ABC Home are a tad expensive at $48 each, but I kind of need two of each colorway so the candy striped stack can look purrrrty on display.

And backing your medicine cabinet in a funky print wallpaper could be an instant lift on those early mornings you rolled out on the wrong side. Or does something like wallpaper only have that kind of an effect on me?
Oh well, I guess I'm a tad into this design stuff.
