STEPH'S SITTING ROOM: JADE WALL PAINT INSPIRATION

We've finally come around to focusing on the sitting room, a domain created for quiet reading or all night movies. First step, the paint color.. we want something inviting and titillating and I can't think of a better color than JADE for this space.

PROOF THAT DOING LAUNDRY CAN BE....BETTER!

If you have more than one kid, or a boyfriend that trains for triathlons twice a day like me, ahem ahem, you are going to be doing a lot of laundry...a lot. So your laundry room might as well be cheery. Add some color, use some cool jars to keeps your stuff visually appealing, or add some fun photos or art. Whatever you do keep it neat, it will make your life a lot easier.

EVERYONE NEEDS A BAR

No matter how big or small your home is, everyone should have some kind of bar! A full bar is always great if you like to entertain a lot, but it doesn't always have to be that way. You could find a small niche to display all your decanters and barware, or find a vintage bar cart. In the "Mad Men" days, men typically had small bars at their work place! Wish we could bring that trend back...

Gotta love the hidden bar <3 With these pocket doors nobody will find your secret stash!!

A bit larger but the hammered copper backsplash gives it some character.

Anybody who knows me personally, knows that my family makes so much wine that we have to store it at my grandmother's! So if your a Wino, make sure that your home has a good spot for some wine cubbies.

And don't forget a fun tray to serve your spread.

This is ideal! If you have the room for this and like to entertain, I highly recommend adding a bar to your  home and get the party started already!!

BATHROOM OF THE WEEK: Completely Exposed

How genius of the Garrett Cord Werner Design Firm to place a shower right in the middle of the bathroom, raising the floor to hide all of the pipes and still being able to see that beautiful wall with the double sink. It takes one ballsy person to have the courage to purchase a home with a master shower that is completely exposed. This circular glass tube shower is the perfect ethereal element, I personally love this concept and I definitely see designing something similar for myself. Whose significant other wouldn't mind waking up to see their partner while they're showering here?? I know I wouldn't mind being in the spotlight.. just as long as its not a fat day.

STYLISH EPOXY RESIN FLOORS, COMING TO A HOME NEAR YOU

I know what you are thinking, epoxy is for warehouses and auto shops. Wrong! Today, people are adding a metallic mixture to the epoxy to create some really amazing floors! Not just for uber cool garages like the one below, but also for your living spaces. Not only is epoxy slip resistant, its also easy to maintain and it costs a lot less than adding hardwood floors. And if you are looking for a more modern look it might be something you should consider for the overall design.

If you have a car collection, an amazing epoxy coating should be standard.

You can even at decorative elements.

Maybe a few too many colors for me, but still very cool

Pure glossy white epoxy for a residence

The colors of a sunset, this one is for a tanning salon.

This one is my favorite! I think this is someone's art studio

This epoxy is trying to emulate some real stone, with a polished finish

A great spot to experiment, the laundry room or mudroom. Easy rooms to get dirty, but easy enough to clean with epoxy.

CURRENT OBSESSION: Color Reform Rugs

I am more than obsessing over these rugs, I'm 100% saving up for one. I have to have one, like now! One of my favorite things in the world is color. Unexpected color, vibrant color, jewel tones, the more saturated the better! These rugs are unique vintage rugs that are hand woven in Turkey, and then over dyed with its original color to create this vivid, saturated georgeousness! ABC Carpet states, " The Color Reform collection began as a way to salvage imperfect, vintage carpets and resulted in a revolutionary movement of color. A salvaged carpet, once traditional is now a contemporary work of art!" Somewhere out there is a Color Reform rug with my name on it!
