PREPPY CHIC PLAID

Amy Manor Interiors
I'm utterly obsessed with Osbourne & Little's Lomond Tartan wools and have been dying to use it somewhere. Unfortunately, none of our clients are on board because the fabric is 100% wool. I would never ask a client to do an entire sofa in a wool plaid, but high quality fine gauge wools can be very luxurious and cool on a chair or pillow. I get that the seasons are changing and the weather here in the northeast can be dreadful in the summer months, but is wool on upholstry a deal breaker for any of you?

AVE APARTMENTS

Lately, we have been contemplating the idea of moving into a new apartment, somewhere closer to New York City. AVE Apartments in Clifton are perfect for us, offering a resort-style atmosphere. Ave Living's fully furnished one and two bedroom apartments are perfect for young working professionals and chic renters.  They offer all of the desirable ammenities such as a 24 hour fitness center, luxurious pools, a multi media theatre and weekday breakfast including Startbucks and Tazo Teas. Thankfully AVE offers unfurnished apartments as well since Nicole and I already have enough furniture to fill an entire space.

PAINTED AGATE AND MARBLING TECHNIQUES

We've all been on board with the agate trend for awhile now and personally I'm still not done with it. Whether an urban space or a beach bungalow, the swirls and dips in the movement of agate creates this natural texture fit for any interior space. Creating the texture in calming neutrals like Bridget Beari did for the 2012 Richmond Showhouse below, keeps it interesting without being over the top. Not looking to paint an entire space in swirls? Try DIYing a small table like Danicka Herrick of Gordgeous Shiny Things Blog, which adds a giant impact without the commitment.

KELLY IS GETTING MARRIED!!

One of my bestest friends, Kelly, is getting married next year and she's getting prepared to start wedding dress shopping!!! YAY! She's already reserved appointments with Kleinfeld's, Reem Acra, and a few others for a fun filled weekend in Manhattan. I couldn't be more thrilled to join her and family on one of the most precious shopping trips of her life. Funny enough, Kelly and I have very similar taste when it comes to wedding and design, just look at our Pinterest boards. So I know whatever she slips on will look inevitably gorgeous.

I think Kelly and I enjoy a similar love of the vintage look with lace and applique details with a sheath silhouette. More vintage, less princess/barbie. Just a few dresses we have been eyeing...

I kind of fell off my chair when I saw this last one (no idea who makes it). And I'm not into strapless but the beadwork on this is just stunning.

Can't wait to see her say "Yes to the Dress!"

SMEG REFRIGERATOR FOR WEST ELM

The retro candy colored fridge is back at West Elm. At only about 23.7" wide, 27.5" deep and 57.5" high, the appliance is perfect for a basement bar, guest house, or apartment. At about $2,000, it's still a hefty price tag, but worth the investment if you are really aiming for that look.

One bit of advice, the fridge needs ample space (12 inches to be exact) on the hinged side, in order for the door to open properly. So keep that in mind when planning the space.

I'm finding that pink, tends to be the most commonly used Smeg color.

I'm loving the orange. Very hip.
